Here at Wabi Pottery Studio, we teach the fundamentals of ceramics in both wheel throwing and hand building.
This studio is unconventional compared to others as we offer a relaxed, non judgmental atmosphere where we embrace artists and beginners to simply enjoy playing with clay, and encourage creating wabi-sabi forms (organic and not specifically perfectly symmetrical). This applies to both throwing and hand building, as the art of sculpting evolves uniquely for each individual. For beginners, even though we teach you techniques, we allow you to develop your own unique skills at Wabi.
To book larger parties, please send us an email to set up your appointment!
Groups of 4 people or less are welcome to drop in during business hours for any class.
All ages welcome!

I ultimately fell in love with ceramics after I had lost all of my music and photography on my computer. I was so devastated that years of work could be deleted instantaneously. Once I started to dabble in ceramics I learned the history, how pottery lasts thousands of years. In the past and the future. I learned about how making a pinch pot was one of the first man made advances in technology: it gave us the ability to carry water. I fell in love with ancient pottery and making something that would live on after I pass. I try to infuse life into my pottery by making faces, and working on them until they seem to have an aliveness about them to where I can feel that they look back at me.
